Hello, this is Richard Shea with Sawin & Shea. As people are aware, due to COVID-19, the bankruptcy court has shut down all in-person hearings. With those changes, a meeting of creditors for active bankruptcy cases are still taking place and are going to be taking place for the foreseeable future. But those meetings will all be taking place, either through a telephone conference, or video Zoom chat. Now, with those conferences, you will receive a notification in the mail from the trustee and the court, and also if you have not received anything, please contact our office, so we can make sure we get you that information.
The biggest change that you will find with these phone and video chat conferences, is that you can no longer bring information with you to the hearing to give to the trustee. So that means that the documentation and information that is required to be provided to the trustees prior to the hearing must be provided to our office about a week ahead of time, so we can ensure those documents and information are provided, so that the meeting, when it is scheduled by video or telephonic, can be held and still proceed as normal. Make sure that you keep us informed and get us the requested documentation, so we can ensure your hearing couldn’t move forward without a hitch.
If you have a question or concerns with how to log in, or how to connect telephonically, please give us a call, we can walk you through that. Thank you much.
